Current Comprehensive Plan

Overview

On September 21, 2015, the City Council approved Ordinance 15-062, adopting a new Comprehensive Plan for the City of Bellaire. The purpose of a Comprehensive Plan is to anticipate and guide future development trends in a manner that will provide a community with a balance of land uses that promote a superior quality of life. The document serves as a policy guide for the City Council, city boards and commissions, and city staff.

On April 3, 2017, the City Council approved Ordinance 17-023, adopting an amendment to Chapter 2, Land Use & Community Character, to repeal the land use character designation "Business Park" and replace it with a new land use character designation, "North Bellaire Special Development Area" and to update the Future Land Use Map to show the new designation.
