The City Clerk is appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The City Clerk participates in the administration of city elections through Harris County.
General Responsibilities include:
- Recording and editing minutes of meetings
- Plan and direct the maintenance, filing, safekeeping, and computerization of all city documents
- Issue public notification of all official activities and meetings
- Maintain and update documents such as the City Code of Ordinances
- Prepare meeting agendas and packets of related information
