This week we remember Human Resources Director Melanie Glaze, who passed away September 21.
Melanie accomplished so much during her two years with the City of Bellaire, leaving an indelible mark on our people and culture. She brought positions and salaries into competitive alignment with the market, expanded health care options while saving employees and the city money, implemented a vastly-improved 457 Plan to help employees save for retirement, and advocated for more paid time off and a parental leave policy, among many things.
Melanie approached everything she did with a can-do spirit, hustle, and sparkle. She was a great colleague and friend. We will miss her.
