This week we spotlight Shift Commander Albert Figueroa and his 35 incredible years of service at the Bellaire Fire Department.
Ask anyone about Albert and you’ll hear the same thing: he’s a mentor, a lifelong friend, and the person who always shows up for his Fire Department family, on duty or off. He’s strong in mind (well… most days), body, soul, and HEART.
Albert’s passion for moving the department forward has shaped our EMS program in major ways. From refining protocols in the early days to helping launch groundbreaking medical studies like the mobile stroke unit and mobile ECMO, he’s been a driving force behind innovation.
As a trainer, he makes tough info easy to digest, empowers others to grow, and ensures every “scraped knee” becomes a lesson - not a setback.
From his first day in 1990 to today, Albert’s kindness, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting impact on our crews, our community, and the future of EMS in Bellaire.
