This week we remember Human Resources Director Melanie Glaze, who passed away Sunday, September 21.
Melanie accomplished so much during her 2 years with the City of Bellaire, leaving an indelible mark on our people and culture. She brought positions and salaries into competitive alignment with the market, expanded health care options while saving employees and the city money, moved our employee timekeeping and evaluation systems online, implemented a vastly-improved 457 Plan to help employee save for retirement, and advocated for more paid time off and a parental leave policy, among many things.
Melanie approached everything she did with a can-do attitude, hustle, and sparkle. We will miss her greatly.
