JenkinsJ

This Friday, the City of Bellaire and the Bellaire Police Department will proudly honor Officer Joe Jenkins as he retires after an incredible 25-year career of service to our community.

Officer Jenkins has been a cornerstone of our department—respected for his unwavering work ethic, professionalism, and investigative expertise. Throughout his distinguished career, he has served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Corporal, and Detective, earning admiration from colleagues and citizens alike.

His accomplishments are many: from solving complex elder abuse and fraud cases to apprehending bank robbery suspects—and even pursuing suspects during the unforgettable 18-wheeler chase of 2004. Joe’s integrity, compassion, and commitment have left a lasting impact on everyone he’s worked with.

Beyond his impressive resume, Joe is known for the warmth and respect he brings to every interaction. He has built strong bridges within the community and has been a mentor and role model to countless officers.

As he steps into retirement, Joe carries with him the values that have defined his career: loyalty, service, and honor. While we will miss seeing him in uniform, his legacy lives on in the officers he has trained, the cases he has solved, and the lives he has touched.

On behalf of Chief Lopez, the Bellaire Police Department, and the City of Bellaire—thank you, Joe. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your friendship.

Congratulations on your retirement—you’ve earned it. We wish you health, happiness, and well-deserved rest in this next chapter.
