The Bellaire Citizen's Police Academy is a free community-oriented Police Program designed for the citizens of Bellaire or those who work in the Bellaire area. The program has three main goals in mind:
- To allow citizens to meet the men and women who serve the community.
- To educate the public in how the police department operates and why law enforcement officials do what they do.
- To provide Bellaire Police Officers the opportunity to meet and hear from the citizens they serve.
Participants are introduced to all aspects of law enforcement, including:
- History of the Bellaire Police Department
- The hiring process
- Patrol Division
- Dispatch
- Firearms/Less than Lethal
- Criminal Law
- Crash Investigation
- Traffic Stops/High Risk Stop
- Drone Operations
- Criminal Investigations Division
The class will meet on Tuesday nights and will run approximately 10 -11 consecutive weeks from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age to apply and will need to pass a background check.
NOTE: The Bellaire Citizen's Police Academy is not a TCOLE licensing academy and WILL NOT certify attendees as law enforcement officers.
