Finance Administration

The Finance Department is responsible for general accounting, accounts payable, utility billing, purchasing, and municipal court operations. This includes cash and debt management, payroll processing, and monitoring of all revenue and expenditure activity of the city. The city's fiscal year is October 1 through September 30. The city issues a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) following the completion of the annual audit.

The city’s taxes are collected by Harris County. You can pay and view your tax information at Harris County Tax Collections Office.

Beginning October 1, 2016, the new City water and sewer rates will go into effect and will first be reflected in the November 2016 billing. The new water and sewer rates can be viewed here.
